Premium Finance for Trucking Companies
Owner-operators, small fleets and new ventures: keep your authority active and your cash in the truck. NatPrem pays the premium — you pay monthly.
Commercial truck insurance is the largest single bill most carriers face. Auto liability alone can run into the tens of thousands, and a new venture pays it at the moment it has the least cash — before the first load is ever hauled. Trucking premium finance solves that: NatPrem pays your premium to the carrier or MGA up front, you make a down payment, and the balance is spread across monthly installments. Your filings stay active, your coverage binds on time, and your working capital stays where it belongs — in fuel, drivers, tires and freight.
Trucking Coverages We Finance
Any premium your agent places for the truck can be financed — on one agreement, with one monthly payment.
Auto Liability
The FMCSA-required policy behind your MCS-90 and BMC-91 filings. Usually the biggest premium — and the one that has to be paid before your authority goes active.
Motor Truck Cargo
Covers the freight you haul. Brokers and shippers require it before they tender a load.
Physical Damage
Collision and comprehensive on the tractor and trailer — required by your lender if the unit is financed.
General Liability
Premises and operations coverage that many brokers and contracts now ask for alongside auto liability.
Non-Trucking Liability
Bobtail coverage for owner-operators leased to a motor carrier — for when you're under dispatch but not under a load.
Trailer Interchange & Excess
Trailer interchange, umbrella and any other endorsement your operation needs.
Why Trucking Is Different
General premium finance companies treat a trucking policy like any other. We built NatPrem around it.
New ventures welcome
First-year authorities pay the highest premiums with the least history. We finance them every day — your driving record and the down payment matter more than the age of your MC number.
We pay the MGA directly
Trucking policies are placed through managing general agents. We disburse straight to the MGA so the policy binds and your filings post without a gap.
Monthly, matched to your cash flow
Freight pays in 30 days; premiums are due today. Monthly installments let your receivables cover your insurance instead of your savings.
Add units mid-term
Bought a second truck? An added-vehicle endorsement can be rolled into your existing agreement instead of paid in cash.
Renewals without the shock
When the renewal quote comes in, we finance it the same way — so year two never feels like year one.
Licensed and regulated in Texas

How It Works for a Trucker
Your agent quotes the policy
Auto liability, cargo, physical damage — whatever your operation and your contracts require.
You choose to finance
Instead of paying the full premium, you sign a premium finance agreement with NatPrem. Your agent handles the paperwork.
You put a little down
You pay the down payment. NatPrem pays the rest of the premium directly to the MGA or carrier, and your coverage binds.
You pay monthly
Manageable installments over the policy term. Pay online any time.
Trucking Premium Finance — Common Questions
Can a brand-new trucking company finance its insurance?
Yes. New ventures are the majority of what we finance. You'll need a bound quote from your agent and the down payment; there is no minimum time in business.
Do I need business credit or a personal credit check?
The financed policy itself is the collateral — if the agreement is cancelled, the unearned premium returns to NatPrem. That is why premium finance does not depend on business credit history the way a bank loan does.
Does financing delay my filings or my authority?
No. Once the down payment is received, we fund the MGA promptly and the carrier issues the policy and filings on their normal schedule.
What if I miss a payment?
You'll receive written notice with time to cure before anything happens to the policy, as Texas law requires. Call us before the due date if a load pays late — we would much rather work with you than send a notice.
Can I pay the agreement off early?
Yes. You can pay off the remaining balance at any time, and unearned finance charges are refunded according to your agreement.
Do I have to be a Protec Consulting Group client?
No. NatPrem works with Protec and with independent agents across Texas. If your agent isn't set up with us yet, have them contact us — it takes a few minutes.
